The Embarcadero Center: San Francisco's See-Worthy Waterfront Hotel
No visit to San Francisco is complete without charting a course for the Embarcadero Waterfront. Think of it as the "City by the Bay's" front door. The Embarcadero is where ferries come and go to nearby destinations such as Treasure Island and Sausalito; shoppers and foodies browse and graze at the Ferry Building and Embarcadero Center; and maritime history comes alive along this pivotal part of the Barbary Coast trail walking tour.
New to the Embarcadero is the beautiful Exploratorium; a 21st century learning laboratory located on Pier 15 less than a mile from the hotel. Its eye opening exhibits, demonstrations and performances are sure to encourage more leaning than ever before on San Francisco's Embarcadero.
The Ferry Building, also located on the waterfront is full of local gourmet restaurants and shops. Specializing in everything from delectable desserts to wine and cheese parings to as fresh seafood and even an organic farmers market every Thursday and Saturday, this is a foodie's paradise.
AT&T Park at the end of the Embarcadero is a downtown landmark and thriving entertainment center all rolled into one. Considered a fan's park because it offers great fan amenities and diversions for the whole family, including an excellent public transportation hub and a miniature AT&T park playground, the ballpark was opened to rave reviews in 2000 and hasn't looked back since.
