Spilling the Ink at Aquarium of the Bay

Ever wonder how cephalopods do their part to keep the San Francisco Bay a healthy ecosystem? Didn’t think so. But now you can. Get your geek on at one of the Aquarium of the Bay’s daily squid dissections. That’s right – every day at 2:30pm a staff member will spill the ink in the Bay Lab. Other behind-the-scenes features include a 1:00pm tour where you learn how they care for the aquarium’s 20,000 animals and the 3:00pm Tunnel Feeding where you have the chance to feed sharks and rays. Those looking for a more hands-on experience will want to stop by the Touch Pool, where you can feel for yourself the textures of Juvenile Bat Rays, Leopard Sharks, and Skates. With more that 300 feet of tunnels and 700,00 gallons of Bay water, you’re sure to be mesmerized by these close encounters.
